San Juan de Gaztelugatxe means “Castle Rock’s” in Basque is a definite must if you are in the country. This small staircase path above sea reaches a tiny church that dedicated to John the Baptist. A man made stone bridge of 241 steps connect mainland to the San Juan de Gaztelugatxe. Traditions says that once you make it to the church after climbing 237 narrow dangerous stairs must ring the island’s church ring thrice times and make a wish.
